We have received a couple of messages asking about MilMove and why another platform is needed.
Q: Aren't there enough facebook groups covering PCS Moves?
A: A number of Facebook and other social platform groups related to PCS Moves exist. Many are realty agents, others service providers and some are very active groups like PCS Like a PRO that serve a very important role promoting change. Some groups are open, and some groups are closed to the public most likely due to posters wishing to remain anonymous. MilMove does not intended to replace these important groups! Instead, we aim to augment their efforts by providing an open and transparent environment that bring all parties together, allowing anyone to participate without being directly linked to their personal posts unrelated to PCS Moves. Customers, Industry TSPs and Government entities can post here and choose whether or not to identify themselves. What matters at MilMove is not who you are but instead the value of the information you can bring to the table that can help others! If you are a Customer and wish to share your experience or have a question you can post it here without fear of reprisal or others perusing your other social posts. If you are a TSP, or Government entity you also have a choice to post in a personal or official capacity, or both! Just use your official email address for signing up to contribute as a TSP or government entity, and another private email address to contribute informally! All we ask is that your contributions be honest, informative, and on-point.
Q: Why doesn't MilMove just open a Facebook, Reddit, Twitter or other social account?
A: A forum type platform offers a more structured, topic driven approach. If someone is interested in Claims, justo go to the Claims discussion section. On Facebook and other social platforms it can be very difficult to locate only claims related posts among hundreds if not thousands of unrelated posts. At MilMove all discusssions are ordered in topics, all in one place in a structured manner that makes it eay to find discussions that interest you. It allows you to share your views with others that are interested in the same topic with responses focused and based on the same set of facts! We have opened a MilMove Facebook account primarily for visibility, to attract participation at our forum and to pass on important information discussed here.
